(actually, the one photo that would truly represent today would be a photo of the insanely blazing sun. imagine a 500 x 300 px rectangle of BLINDING WHITE LIGHT that has no mercy, makes the melamine (?) in your skin go nuts, your sweat glands go hyper and your brain boil a little bit. the weather is bad, but you know what’s worse? WORKING IN A STUDIO WITH NO OPEN WINDOWS WITH NO AIRCONDITIONING. while you sweat and boil and marinade in your own juices, and the only thing you eyes can see is this blinding white rectangle.)
phew. sorry, rant over. i’m so tired of this 10-minute old light energy that the sun sends over to earth through millions of miles of space. millions of miles and the heat is still intense. garh! i’m moving to pluto.
L’année dernière à Marienbad is a french film. a very confusing french film that would require multiple viewings to comprehend. the characters have no names, the setting is apparently geographically impossible (and anonymous, but not generic), the musical score is extremely spooky. a classic oneiric film? i’m not sure if i hate or like it, but if you’re waiting for a compelling reason to want to watch it, the female protagonist’s wardrobe is by coco chanel.
also, i don’t think i can look at geometric plantlife in the same way anymore…
i love the internet. such a compelling short film created with just static imagery and a simple narrative… the motion you create in your head. which makes the film you see here much different from the one in my head, no?
(the original narration is in french, which is available on youtube too)
i seem to have disappeared, haven’t i? it can’t be helped, i have 3 weeks left to my final assessments (i can’t believe it) plus i’ve been reading a really depressing book that’s seems to be eerily close to some of my thoughts. (if you must know it’s milan kundera’s unbearable lightness of being.) so that means i’m not dead, but i’ll see you in a while.
