(hair from my head.)

hair is more complex than it looks, no?

it is in essence, a line – it has no discernible width. and lines are none existent in reality! a string, a rope, an ornament, a means of concealment, identification, camouflage, architecture, a simple-looking complex combination of genetic information. when it falls from a head it loses its meaning (hair is a secondary structure, unlike a dandelion’s parachutes, when detached from its source it becomes like all other unwanted strands of hair – caught hiding unawares in our half-eaten, always half-eaten food – useless and meaningless (really?)) so does this mean i lose a bit of myself and a bit of meaning every time i drop a strand of hair? then i guess there’s not much of me left!

(exclamation mark instead of period used to end the paragraph on a (seemingly) lighter note.)
